Better tools don't fix
bad inputs or loose approvals.
Three current shifts all point to the same thing: the tools are getting more capable, and that makes the information, approvals and verification around them matter more, not less.

Three current shifts all point to the same thing: better tools make sloppy inputs and loose handoffs more expensive.
Google is leaning harder on the data underneath a campaign. Adobe put generative video and audio inside the Premiere timeline. And Microsoft documented a fraud campaign that used AI-assisted templates to make fake invoices look like the real thing. None of these are reasons to slow down. All three are reasons to check what's feeding the tools before you let them run faster.
Three shifts
worth your attention.
Google is putting more weight on the data underneath the campaign
Google's latest Ads and Analytics update adds tighter first-party data connections, new diagnostics, a Data Strength Uplift metric, and broader access to causal testing through Meridian GeoX. The direction is clear: the platforms can optimize more aggressively, but they still need clean signals telling them what a good result actually is.
This is the part most growing teams skip. Smart bidding, audience expansion and automated budget shifts all work off whatever you told the platform counts as a conversion. If that's a thank-you page that fires twice, a form that spam bots love, or a "lead" that never turns into revenue, the algorithm will happily optimize toward the wrong thing with total confidence.
The takeaway: Before you ask AI to optimize the budget, make sure the conversions feeding it are real, useful and connected to the outcome your business actually cares about.
Premiere can now generate missing shots and sound inside the timeline
Adobe added a Generative Media tool to Premiere that can create editable video, sound effects, soundscapes and music without sending an editor out to another app. After Effects also gets an AI Assistant that can handle multi-step project work. That removes a lot of mechanical friction from post-production.
For a client, this is mostly good news. The gap in B-roll, the missing room tone, the transition that needs a beat of sound design: all of it gets faster and cheaper to fix. What it doesn't do is decide whether a generated shot belongs in a piece that carries your name, or whether the person who approved the cut knew which frames were real.
The takeaway: The bottleneck moves from "can we make it?" to "is this the right thing, is it approved, and are we comfortable shipping it?" Faster generation makes a clean review process more valuable.
A convincing email is getting cheaper to fake
Microsoft documented a recent campaign that sent more than a million fraudulent emails, impersonated company executives, included fabricated invoices and fake forwarded threads, and tried to get accounts-payable teams to send ACH payments of nearly $50,000. Microsoft found indicators consistent with AI-assisted template development.
The old tells are gone. The grammar is clean, the logo is right, the "forwarded" thread has your CFO's signature block, and the urgency reads exactly like a real Friday-afternoon request. If your AP process leans on "it looked legitimate," it's leaning on something that no longer exists.
The takeaway: Tone, logos and a familiar-looking email thread are not verification. Any request that changes where money goes should require confirmation through a separate, trusted channel.
Clean inputs.
Clear approvals.
Independent verification.
Three things
I'd check this week
Check the conversions your ad platforms are optimizing toward.
Pick the three outcomes that matter most. Confirm they aren't duplicating, firing on weak actions, counting spam, or stopping at the lead when the real business outcome happens later.
Add one explicit check to the creative approval.
If generated media makes it into the final piece, note what was generated, which tool or model produced it, and who reviewed the result. Keep the record simple enough that people will actually use it.
Move payment changes out of email.
A new bank account, wire instruction, ACH destination, vendor payment change or unusually urgent executive request should be verified through a phone number, app or contact path you already trust, not one supplied in the message.
Marketing Audit
+ Roadmap
We offer a Marketing Audit + Roadmap for teams that know something could be working better but don't need somebody immediately selling them a giant new marketing plan. We look at the current setup, meaning your website, messaging, marketing activity, measurement and customer path, then turn what we find into a prioritized roadmap.

The update adds tighter first-party data connections, new diagnostics, a Data Strength Uplift metric, and broader access to causal testing through Meridian GeoX. The practical point for advertisers is that Google's automation now depends even more on the quality of the conversion data you feed it, so clean tracking matters before you turn on more automated bidding or budget shifting.
Yes. Adobe's September 2026 update added a Generative Media tool inside the Premiere timeline that can create editable video, sound effects, soundscapes and music without leaving the app, and After Effects gained an AI Assistant for multi-step project work. The upside is speed in post-production. The thing to manage is approval: someone should know which elements of a finished piece were generated and sign off on them.
Treat any request that changes where money goes as unverified until it's confirmed through a channel you already trust: a known phone number, an internal chat, or an in-person conversation. Never use a phone number or link supplied in the suspicious message itself. Microsoft's research shows these emails now impersonate executives convincingly, include fabricated invoices and fake forwarded threads, and target ACH payments, so the look and tone of an email is no longer evidence of anything.
Keep it simple: what was generated, which tool or model produced it, and who reviewed the final result. A one-line note in the project file or the delivery email is enough. The goal is that nobody is surprised later by which shots or sounds in a client piece were synthetic.
It's a fixed-scope engagement for teams that know something in their marketing could be working better but don't want to be sold a giant new plan first. We review your website, messaging, marketing activity, measurement and customer path, then hand back a prioritized roadmap. What's working stays, what isn't gets called out, and if something doesn't need rebuilding we'll say so. It doesn't require an ongoing retainer.
